Hi, I'm Jada.

Your Christian birth doula serving Jacksonville, FL. I am a Christian mother of two precious boys. We live in Jacksonville, FL and we homeschool! I enjoy spending time in nature, cooking, and really just doing whatever my God has for me to do. After experiencing the blessing of birth myself bringing my sons into the world and also seeing there was a lack of professing Christian birthing assistants in Florida, I had a desire to get involved in birth work. So with prayerful consideration, I eventually took a step towards that and completed certification through AWWS to become a certified birth doula in 2024. I aim to support families with a biblical perspective on pregnancy and birth. I am very excited to serve families as they enter this new season of life. Get in touch with me to discuss how I can support you on your journey to a faith-filled birth experience. I'm here to walk alongside you, offering steadfast support - soooo.. let’s doula this!

  • The term "doula" is derived from a Greek word meaning “woman who serves.” Today, it refers to a trained professional who provides continuous, non-medical support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. A doula offers emotional, physical, educational, and spiritual support, helping parents navigate the entire birthing journey with confidence. Doulas remain by your side throughout the birthing process, offering personalized care without shift changes or divided attention. Doulas assist in creating and carrying out your birth plan, advocating for your birth desires, and ensuring clear communication with medical staff. They are knowledgeable in natural pain coping techniques and are dedicated to providing the information and support you need to make informed decisions.

  • In today’s world, many birth workers are being trained to use terms like “birthing person” instead of “mother” and “chestfeeding” instead of “breastfeeding” in an effort to align with societal trends. However, as a Christian doula, I hold to the belief that motherhood is a sacred calling, and I honor the God-given design of women as mothers. Additionally, while many doulas incorporate new-age philosophies or self-empowerment techniques, Christ-centered childbirth focuses on drawing strength not from within ourselves, but from our relationship with God. It’s through the power of His Holy Spirit that true peace and strength are found during the birthing process.

"I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
    — Psalm 121:1-2 (ESV)

Christ-Centered Childbirth honors the husband or father in his God-given role as the head of the family and the first line of support for his wife. His presence and involvement are crucial, and as a doula, my role is not to take over or push him aside, but to empower him to actively support his wife through the birthing process. In addition, we recognize that every aspect of childbirth, including the presence of medical professionals, is part of God’s sovereign plan. Rather than being overly suspicious of every intervention, we focus on being informed and discerning, trusting in God's wisdom while making educated decisions for the birth. Your partner knows you, your doula knows birth. Together, we make a great team!

    • Reduced Cesarean Rates: Women who use doulas are 39% less likely to have a cesarean birth.

    • Shorter Labor: The presence of a doula is associated with a 25% shorter labor duration.

    • Lower Use of Pain Medication: With doula support, the need for epidurals and other pain medications decreases by 10%.

    • Increased Spontaneous Vaginal Birth: The likelihood of having a spontaneous vaginal birth (without the use of forceps, vacuum, or cesarean) increases by 15%.

    • Reduced Risk of Preterm Birth: Studies show a 22% reduction in the risk of preterm birth when a doula is involved.

    • Higher Satisfaction with Birth Experience: Mothers supported by doulas report a 31% increase in overall satisfaction with their birth experience.

    • Decreased Use of Pitocin: The use of Pitocin to augment labor is reduced by 31% when a doula is present.

    • Lower Risk of Postpartum Depression: Women who receive doula care have a lower incidence of postpartum depression, with a 28% reduction in the risk.

  • Nurses and midwives can be compassionate and supportive, but their role is very different from that of a doula. Nurses and midwives are focused on clinical tasks, such as monitoring the baby’s heart rate, taking mom’s vitals, performing vaginal exams, charting, and often catching the baby (though moms can do this too). It is also important to note that medical staff members have shifts. Once their shift is over they leave, and you suddenly have a new person taking care of you. Your doula on the other hand, stays with you throughout your entire birth experience (with occasional exceptions), so you always have the comfort of a trusted person in your corner. A doula works for the mom, not her care provider or her birth place, and therefore has the mom’s needs as her main priority.
